Employers for ApprenticesWelcome to the ‘Employers for Apprentices’ website which supported the work of the Apprenticeships Task Force during its consultation period 2003 – 2005. The Apprenticeship Ambassadors Network (AAN) was launched in April 2006 to continue aspects of this work. The Network consists of high profile business people and is chaired by Sir Roy Gardner, Chairman of Compass Group plc. Launch Speech The Network is responsible for promoting Apprenticeships to employers of all sizes with the aim of increasing the take-up and completions of Apprenticeships. It also aims to provide feedback to Government on issues which affect the quality and effectiveness of apprenticeships. Amongst its activities, the Network hosts an Annual Reception in the summer and awards Honorary Apprenticeships to vocational champions. We welcome employer views on the programme as well as requests for further information, which may help your company to recruit Apprentices.
Please note that AAN is not responsible for the content of external sites.

"In 2005 the Apprenticeships Task Force which I had been leading produced its final report. We were able to show that much progress had been made in raising employer awareness in apprenticeships and more importantly encouraging engagement and recruitment. Numbers of apprentices in this country are at a record level of 250,000. However, there is still much to be done and that’s why I was so pleased when the Secretary of State for Education and Skills invited me to form the new Apprenticeship Ambassadors Network - a group of business leaders, with strong representation from Sector Skills Councils, who will be championing Apprenticeships around the country. Many of the employers on the Task Force have provided compelling evidence of the business benefits Apprenticeships can bring to large and small companies. I hope you will use this website to find out how Apprenticeships could help address your skills needs.”
