Dick Olver

Chairman, BAE Systems plc

Before becoming Chairman, BAE Systems plc, in 2004, Dick Olver was Deputy Group Chief Executive of BP plc.

Dick Olver joined BP in 1973 and has held a wide variety of jobs in the upstream oil and gas business as well as corporate planning and strategy. He was appointed to the Board of BP and became Chief Executive, Exploration and Production on January 1, 1998, and Deputy Chief Executive in January 2003. Dick Olver is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He is a Non-Executive director of Reuters Group plc and a Governor of New Hall School.

Dick Olver is alternate to Mike Turner, Chief Executive, BAE Systems plc on the Apprenticeships Task Force.
